Ya Gotta Believe
A place for New York Mets fans made by a New York Mets fan. If you love baseball, you will love this blog.

Welcome!

Hey Mets fans!
This is a weblog created by a simple fan who loves the game of baseball and, more specifically, the New York Mets. I'll confess that I'm not much of a ball player. The closest I get to a diamond, aside from Shea Stadium, is a intramural softball game at my school. This is an amateur site with subjective opinions. Let me know if you think I'm wrong or right. I just love the game and talking baseball with anyone is truly a passion.
However, for those of you who are skeptical about my knowledge or my allegiance to the Mets, here are some fast facts to let you know how faithful I am:
-My dad was at Game 5 of the 1969 World Series when they won it. I have been raised a Mets fan since the day I was born.
-I was born in 1984, the year of "the doctor"
-When I talk about the Mets, I use "us"
-I own a Mo Vaughn Mets t-shirt (the kind that looks like a jersey).....and still wear it to this day.
-Tank is the man
-Keith Hernandez is the best first baseman to ever play. Period.
-The Yankees are for tourists and movie stars. True baseball is played at Shea Stadium.
-I have taken the 7 train to the stadium.
-Mike Piazza's home run against the Braves on Sept. 21rst, 2001, is the best thing I have ever seen.
-Fran Healy is the worst announcer in the world.
-Roger Cedeno was the man, then the worst player to ever wear a glove.
-I still use a glove to play catch that is Bobby Bonilla's signature series.
-Todd Hundley is my favorite player of all time.
-"Who let the dogs out?" wasn't that corny when we were winning.
-I still think that the airplane seat section races on the big screen at Shea will soley be determined by how loud I yell.
-Butch Huskey is the best doubles hitter of all-time.
Anyway, I will be writing about my thoughts about the current state of the team, times from the past, and other happening in the MLB. I believe so I will try to have a positive outlook, but there will always be a Armando Benitez or Rickey Henderson who make me want to turn off the television. Let's Go Met's!
