Overview: The Braves Series

Well, they did it again. The Braves beat us in yet another season series for the eighth straight year. This was a telling series which proves that although we have made improvements, we have a long way to go.

The series had all the signs that it would be in the Mets favor. Chipper Jones was hurt and John Smoltz would not be pitching so this would have been a great time for the Mets to perhaps "get over the hump" of losing to the Braves. Pedro pitched well enough in the first game to earn his 200th career win and things looked like they would go our way.....

Then, God's curse on the Mets, Victor Zambrano, took the mound. Zambrano must be great around Christmas time because he is so giving. Like how he gave up three home runs. That's great. He's great. I wish he could start every game this year, but I know that is just silly! HAHAHAHAhahaha. Am I crazy? Do you have to be the Tampa Bay Devil Rays management to see that the guy cannot pitch a tent let alone a Major League game!

Tom Glavine, who couldn't beat the Braves in RBI Baseball on the Sega Genesis console, threw an absolute gem finally. Too bad that Tim "I look like I'm gonna have a hernia everytime I throw" Hudson threw better because the equipment managers must have given the Mets those old nerf swords to hit with by accident.

David Wright certainly wet the bed with his three errors, but how can you stay mad at a face like that. All he would have to say is "Oops! Did i do that" with a sad face, and I swear the entire stadium would go "awww" and clap like my baby cousin Katlynn gets when she sings take me out to the ballgame (Even though my Uncle helps her with all the words. I'm never that impressed).

All in all, life will be unfair until we beat those miserable guys from Georgia. This was a series where we could have made a statement and earned the title of "the best team in baseball" so many had given us. The Mets screwed up and hopefully in two weeks, we can send the message we were supposed to send when we visit the dirty south....
